Year FOUR of Great American Christmas is shaping up to be the network's best year yet!
Although the network keeps changing titles of some of the movies, here is an updated list of the movies that have been announced so far. No guarantees that the titles will stay the same!
So far, there are FIFTEEN movies slated for Great American Christmas 2024 with more likely to be announced soon.
Home Sweet Christmas
Home Sweet Christmas pairs Candace Cameron Bure with Cameron Mathison--two mega romcom stars!
In Home Sweet Christmas, Sophie Marlow (Bure), a successful mergers and acquisitions attorney, is called home to Waynesbridge, Washington, following her great uncle’s passing. Uncle Henry left Sophie 60% ownership in his Marlow Maple Meadows, a sprawling patch of sugar maple forest. Though Sophie hasn’t been on the property in decades, she immediately begins retracing the happy steps of her youth before encountering Sam (Mathison), her long-lost, childhood friend. Sam has returned to the farm after learning Henry left him the other 40% of the property. The legacy property means a quick sale is likely, though Sophie and Sam will discover neither of them is ready to let go just yet.
The plot is a carbon copy of A Merry Christmas Wish from 2022 starring Mathison and Jill Wagner though, but I'm sure it will still be enjoyable.
CCB is a busy lady--not only will she star in The Ainsley McGreggor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker, which premieres October 4 on Great American Family (though it already aired on Pure Flix in July), she is also headlining a second Christmas movie this season called A Christmas Less Traveled opposite Eric Johnson.
A Wreathmaker Christmas
If you love Casey Elliott from the Destined at Christmas installments, you'll be thrilled to know he's returning to GAF for a new 2024 Christmas movie. His co-star is Kristin Wollett from GAF's series, County Rescue.
In A Wreathmaker Christmas, Rebecca (Wollett), a wreathmaker rushing to get her holiday orders finished in time for Christmas, slips on icy steps, injuring her arm. Rebecca’s next-door neighbor, Jason (Elliott), takes her to the hospital and as days go by, Jason begins to sacrifice time at his family’s bakery to help Rebecca with her wreathmaking. This creates questions within his family that Rebecca may be taking advantage of Jason’s kindness and potentially at the expense of the bakery’s busiest time of year. When Rebecca overhears the conversation, she retreats and refuses Jason’s offers of help only to discover she misses his presence, his friendship…or is it something more?
Elliott is also a member of the music trio, Gentri, which performed a Christ-centered Christmas special in 2023 on GAF called Finding Christmas.
A Royal Christmas Ballet
Jonathan Stoddard returns in his third royal role for the network following his prior successes in A Royal Christmas on Ice (2022) and A Royal Christmas Holiday (2023). It's the second time he will be paired with Brittany Underwood.
In A Royal Christmas Ballet, a retired ballerina is pressed into service working with a visiting team of royal ambassadors to put on the season’s performance of “The Nutcracker” and finds herself center stage in an unexpected Christmas romance.
A Shelter and Season's Greetings
In A Shelter and Season’s Greetings, Eric Guilmette plays Caleb, an Army vet wounded in service who recovers with the help of therapy dogs from a local shelter run by Amber (Ash Tsai, Journey to Christmas). As a sign of gratitude, Caleb volunteers at the shelter, though he notices one wealthy donor has his eye on Amber. Despite the patron’s help, the shelter needs additional funds to stay afloat, so Caleb produces a holiday pet fair to bring community together. As the pair become closer, Caleb confides a desire to repair the relationship with his parents that became strained after his injury. Amber has the perfect plan!
The Fabric of Christmas
In The Fabric of Christmas, Liam Sullivan (Harmon Walsh), a firefighter, and Amy Walker (Ferelith Young), a quilting teacher, are drawn together to make the perfect quilt for Liam’s sister Lauren’s (Alia Desantis) Christmas wedding. After a rocky start, the pair is forced to put differences aside and decide what is most important this Christmas.
This movie is listed as a GAF original, but it has a movie poster already and shows that it is a 2023 movie. Not sure what's going on with that.
A Little Women's Christmas
A Little Women’s Christmas is a contemporary retelling of the beloved classic novel, following the lives and loves of the March sisters in a small Tennessee town at Christmas. Jo March is played by Jillian Murray, Trevor Donovan is Friedrich “Fritz” Baehr, Meg March is played by Jen Lilley, Laura Osnes plays Beth March, Julia Reilly is Amy March, and John is played by Jesse Hutch. The one-and-only Gladys Knight performs “Joy.”
A Vintage Christmas
Merritt Patterson and Christopher Russell co-star. Here's the synopsis from GAF's website:
Tessa (Patterson) is a dedicated historian and preservationist in her hometown of Oak Creek, an old-fashioned and passionate protector of the nostalgic. Sparks fly when a business developer, Noah (Russell) arrives in Oak Creek with plans to tear down an abandoned Post Office and replace it with a sleek, modern office complex. There are internal and external struggles among many in the community to arrive at a solution that serves the greater good for all concerned. As the clock ticks toward Christmas, the race to settle the dispute through concessions and compromise is on.
Love at the Kettle
Another title floating around for this movie is Get Him Back for Christmas. It stars Alexa and Carlos PenaVega.
Up-and-coming singer songwriter Bella Harlan (Alexa PenaVega) comes home for Christmas and enlists her high-school songwriting partner Jack Grayton (Carlos PenaVega) to craft a song to win back her rockstar boyfriend by Christmas. As the two reunite for the first time in a decade, they embark on a Christmas journey down memory lane, and soon realize true love may be closer than they thought. The heart of the movie centers on Jack’s role with The Salvation Army, and Bella soon finds herself inspired by his devotion and passion to a life of doing the most good. Filled with charming original music and its share of twists and turns, Love At the Kettle demonstrates the importance of never losing sight of the ones who matter the most.
A Cinderella Christmas Ball
Remember Danica McKellar's job-dropping dance performance in Swing into Romance? We get to see her fancy footwork again in this Christmas movie! Her co-star is Oliver Rice, and the waltzes are choreographed by Dancing with the Stars pro, Gleb Savchenko (who also appeared in Swing into Romance).
Here's the plot:
Chelsea Jones (McKellar) is a dance instructor and studio owner in Chicago who inspires kids to find themselves through dance. Just before Christmas, Chelsea discovers a photo she’s never seen before. Chelsea thinks the young woman is her birth mother who passed away when she was only five years old. The woman is in a wedding dress tugging on the hand of a man wearing a wedding ring, but that is all that can be seen of the man Chelsea believes may be her father. The photo’s handwritten inscription reads, “Our place, Havenshire, December 23, 1984.” With only the internet, a plane ticket, and lifelong determination to go on, Chelsea now has four days in Havenshire to solve the mystery of her birth family. Along the way, she’ll have to sneak into a castle, teach a stubborn Prince how to dance, and be in just the right place on Christmas Eve when the bells toll.
A Christmas Less Traveled
Starring Candace Cameron Bure and Eric Johnson, this movie is centers on “The Dine and Dash” diner, which has a stack of mounting unpaid bills, forcing its owner, Desi (Bure) to sell her beloved, mint condition, cherry red 1964 Ford F-100, a gift from her deceased father. As Desi visits the vintage truck one last time, she discovers a recorded message from her dad on an old audio cassette. Desi’s Dad’s voice sends her and “Old Red” out to retrace her family’s most memorable moments one last time. Just as the journey begins, Desi meets Greyson (Johnson) who offers her a generous payment in exchange for a ride to “close the most important deal” of his life. Little do Desi and Greyson realize the less traveled road will reveal more about each of them than they could have ever known.
A Prince in Paradise 2: A Royal Proposal OR A Christmas Castle Proposal (TBD)
This original GAF sequel, once again, stars Rhiannon Fish and Mitchell Bourke. What happens next for this couple?
Olivia (Fish) and Prince Alexander (Bourke) travel together to his family’s majestic palace in Torovia to spend Christmas with their two families. Despite busy schedules that push the couple in different directions, the couple seems poised to come together for a magical and unforgettable Christmas, until clashing cultures within the families lead to comedic mishaps.
My Grown-Up Christmas Wish OR Once Upon a Christmas Wish
I'm not sure why GAF can't be more decisive about movie titles, but this is another one that has two different titles circulating
The movie stars real-life husband and wife team, Mario and Courtney Lopez.
Mayor Brian Ortega (Mario Lopez) is beloved in the idyllic community of Long Grove. While decorating for Christmas with the residents, Brian discovers his childhood Christmas wish list which magically begins to come true, reminding Brian about the spirit and joy of the holiday. Returning to town for Christmas is Brian’s childhood friend Nina Meyers (Courtney Lopez), and soon a connection becomes undeniable as she helps Brian face a new challenge for the town. As Brian’s wishes come true, he inspires the town to showcase its warm culture and values in order to stop the modern world from stifling the charm and heart of Long Grove.
Aurora Christmas OR Sleighbells and Sugarplums
This star-studded original movie features the talents of Jill Wagner, Jesse Hutch, Lauren Holly, and Bruce Boxleitner.
Erin (Wagner) joins her dad Doug (Boxleitner) for a Christmas in the family’s former hometown of Aurora on a mission that is part business – selling the family home – and major bucket list item for Erin to see the Aurora Borealis light up the Northern sky. Realtor Lori (Holly) and family friend and local tour guide Trevor (Hutch) create a Christmas inspired at every turn by faith, love, and hope, so much so that Christmas bells hung over decades in a forest grove ring an unbroken song, a harbinger of miracles to come.
Operation Mistletoe
Jen Lilley has been dropping hints on Instagram about a second Christmas movie she's been filming. IMDb shows that Operation Mistletoe is an upcoming movie of hers where she stars opposite Nick Bateman. No further details are listed, but this will undoubtedly premiere on GAF!
Christmas In Scotland
The title for this movie had been thrown into the ring at one point, but no further details have been released. We'll have to wait and see!
